Will the Earth be Destroyed

What does the bible say about the End of the World?

Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth Dan 2:34-35 (KJV)

Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.

Daniel speaks of a Kingdom been set up on earth that will destroy all that was before it and those that would be present at that time. The divided kingdom of Iron and Clay and all that remains of the four kingdoms that ruled the world would face the fiery Judgement by the Ancient of Days (Jesus Christ) When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: Matt 25:31 (KJV)

The Governments of these four Kingdoms in Daniel 2 & 7 Along with their religions, forms of false worship and their corruptions will be completely destroyed, given to the burning flame. Daniel, therefore, gives a picture not of the Destruction of the Earth, end of all life, as many Doomsday theories teach. Daniel shows a Judgement scene

 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.  A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened. I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.  As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.  I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

 The Wicked facing the wrath of the Lord for the evil deeds they have committed on the earth. He also shows that the Lord will set up an everlasting Kingdom that will be upon the earth Daniel 7:14. Which will also be possessed by the saints of the Most High;

 But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom forever, even forever and ever. Dan 7:18 (KJV)

 Daniel the Prophet of the Lord shows a kingdom that will be set up forever upon the EARTH. Ruled by Jesus Christ and given to the Saints who will serve and obey him.

And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him. Dan 7:27 (KJV)

The bible teaches the Meek that wait upon the Lord and are blessed of Him will inherit the Earth

Psalms 37: 9, 11, 22

9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth

 11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

22 For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off

NOW Revelation 11:16-18 shows Judgement on the nations of the earth not on the earth itself

16 And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,

17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.

18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

 So will the Earth be destroyed? The Answer is NO!
Revelation 5: 10 Declares we shall reign on the EARTH
 
As for May 21, 2011, Return of Jesus and any other date setting groups out there. Jesus gave an explicit warning, he said

But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. Matt 24:36 (KJV)

 

Repent ye therefore for the Everlasting Kingdom of the Lord is at hand, in an hour ye think not, as a thief in the Night cometh the Son of God.

Therefore my dear reader watch be sober and committe your ways onto the Lord.
